HCA Live is brought to you by Housing Corporation of America . We are a 501(c)3 affordable housing nonprofit that strives to build better communities across Southern California and beyond.
One of the ways that we do that is through our “resident services”: free, ongoing and regularly scheduled educational classes and resources available to residents living in low-income apartment buildings where we are a partner. Provided by our seasoned team of resident services educators, these classes and resources explore a broad range of subject matter, including the arts, college admissions support, health and wellness, and life skills.
During our first 15 years of resident services, all classes were provided on-site in the community room of a partnered community. When the COVID-19 pandemic hit in early 2020 however, we had to replace in-person classes with online classes and pre-recorded “on-demand” classes to reach our resident base. Eventually, we were able to resume in-person classes, at which point we continued to provide these other class formats to meet the needs of as many residents as possible moving forward.
Now, HCA Live houses the schedules for all of our class formats: in-person, online, livestream, and on-demand. Residents of participating communities may create a free account with a mobile phone and/or email to take advantage of advance class sign-ups across the board, as well as easy online class joining and pre-recorded class videos available 24-7. Managers of participating communities may use their accounts to view upcoming classes available to their resident base and download sign-in sheets for any in-person classes held at their property.
